1984 300D Cruise Control does not work, any ideas? Thanks

I am a new member to this website, recently purchased a 1984 300D, great condition, lots of miles though, around 290k. everything works great including sun roof. The only inoperable thing is car is cruise control, any advice, what I should start looking for. Thanks

Hi Yasinchinoy. I couldn't scrap the surface of what Mersedessource can offer, but here goes nothing. You said everything else works and the fuse that carries the cruise control also carries alot of other items so we can safely say it is not the fuse right? When you look under the hood the cruise control is a rectangular unit in the proximity of the power steering unit and has a piece of throttle linkage that should go to it. Make sure the linkage is there and hasn't been removed for whatever reason. Then I would start looking at wiring connections and the switch on the steering column itself. Make sure you are actuating the switch properly and not wrong like me. I thought mine wasn't working but I was using wrong. Okay you can laugh at me now.
