1990 to 1995 60x OM(602 and OM603) Diesel Prechamber Removal Special Fitting for Slide Hammer

WARNING: This is an intermediate to advanced D.I.Y job.  No instructions or additional support is provided.  Do not purchase this tool unless you are familiar with this procedure and the special precautions associated with it. 

Here is a summary of the steps required to perform this job:

• Remove the intake manifold
• Remove the glow plugs  (don't forget or will will damage your prechamber!)
• Remove the mutli-spline collar nut (special tool required not included here - see below)
• Install the fitting on end of your slide hammer (after you have weled it) and attach slide hammer
• Multiple upward hard hits of the sliding hammer will be required 
• Clean prechamber thoroughly before reinstalling
• Make certain prechamber is aligned properly when tapping it back into the head

NOTE: If you remove the valve cover and gasket you can use heat from a blow torch to heat the head slightly to aid in removal and replacement of the pre-chamber (see Kents video on use of blow torch)

The following picture shows the special tool being used to remove the collar nut on a 1993 300D. THERE IS NO OTHER TOOL THAT WILL WORK FOR THIS JOB !

The male end is threaded to go into the prechamber and the female threaded end threads onto the slide hammer as shown below:
