If both dash lights are not working including the lights in the upper center console the problem is most likely in the dimmer switch located on the back of the instrument cluster. This is also called the potentiometer providing variable resistance in the wiring to the bulbs.

The long bulb is 1 and 3/4 inches long, and the short bulb is 1 and 1/2 inches long. These bulbs don't necessarily fit all models. Some applications require smaller bulbs, and please measure your bulbs before ordering this 6-pak.
H4 headlights are still brighter ( see below) but these are your best option if you are on a budget. Easy to install. Video instructions included.
These are actually a little brighter than the originals, and they look correct on the older Mercedes.
For the past 20+ years, we have promoted H4 headlight upgrades for these old Mercedes. The original sealed beam headlight bulbs lacked light output, and we found them sometimes downright "sketchy" on dark roads, especially when deer were known to be present.
