Keeping your throttle linkage ball sockets and pivot points lubricated extends the life of the parts and maintains top performance for the engine as well as some of the later transmissions.
Fits 111, 108, 114, 115, 116, 123 and 126 with linkage that uses either right or left hand thread throttle linkage ball joints. For many gas and diesel engines from the mid 1960s up to the late 1980's. These are a common wear item especially in diesels with high vibration.

Good used undamaged linkage assembly as shown. If your cruise control linkages are sloppy, binding or missing here is the solution. Linkage ball ends do have a slight but acceptable play. The center bushing is in good condition. BOTH LINKAGES ARE INCLUDED.
This is a critical part of the throttle linkage and controls transmission shifting and EGR valve operation. These parts are often missing or have been all messed up. This will be a good start to get your vacuum system back in the correct working order.
If your transmission is shifting too soon it can really rob your car of power and acceleration. If it is shifting too late it can be very loud and annoying and even affect fuel economy.

The bowden cable runs from the transmission to the throttle linkage on many Mercedes from the early 1980's up through the early mid 1990's. When this cable fails or is out of adjustment the transmission will either shift too early or too late.
Inspect for adjustment and tension. If you disconnect the cable from the throttle linkage and there is no spring back pressure then the cable is broken.
New o-ring seal installed.
If you own and maintain an older car (especially 15 years and older) you must be willing to take care of its lubrication needs or you may spend big money later in repairs.
