When an old Mercedes ( or any other car for that matter ) has sat idle for over a year it can be a challenge to get it safely back on the road again. If it has sat idle for more than 5 years you may find it difficult to even get the engine running. Once you do get it running the next area you should deal with is the electrical system.
For any car that has sat over 3 years (especially outside) there will likely be corrosion issues you will have to deal with in the car's electrical system. When looking at 7 years you may have double the trouble! Kent walks you through the procedure for inspecting and cleaning the fuse box, relays, engine sensor plugs, computer plugs, general wiring harness plugs, tail light and turn signal bulb sockets and the engine's ignition system. You will be amazed at what he finds and surprise at how attending to the little things can fix big problems.
Related Repair Details NOT included: Only the fuel system and getingt the engine running is addressed here. No other age related issues are covered in this video.
