i have a 230te estste 1991 the problem is that i keep getting engine oil in the hydrolic suspension tank i know this as i have drained it off back down to empty after doing this within a week the oil light is back on on the dash and the suspension tank is full i cant see how it is happening would like to know how the oil can get into the tank .refrence it being lumpy it just feels like there is too much air in the tyres have set them to the correct pressure and that dosnt make any difference even tried a little less but no difference is that better info for you ps it rear hydrolic suspension
Roughly 5-10 minutes after start (seemingly on colder days) my 1978 300D emits a loud reverberating whine that seems to come from the driver's side of the dash. While intermittent, it is quite unsettling. The best description I can give for the sound is that it is similar to the sound one might hear from a poorly lubricated fan (where the grease in the motor is caked with grime). The sound happens without either climate control or defrost on. Is it A/C related or something more serious? I know the vacuum system is in that general vicinity, but what else might be causing the problem?
How does one know whether to replace the entire injector versus just replacing the nozzles?? Do the nozzles wear out before the springs and other internal components of the injectors? Any thoughts?
Thanks, Justin.

1986 300e 5 spd.(Manual) car starts to sway and jumps on high speed. I thought that the rear shock was going bad so I bought the bilstien HD shocks for the rear and have it installed in a local repair shop close to my home. Its much stable on the freeway. But when I drive the car I hear stomping noise on left rear when driving on bumps or pot holes. It feels like the shocks are so stiff it sounds like dug dug dug dug it feels the rear is falling apart could it be the installation not installed correctly. The noise was not there before. what part is worned out to make this noise.
I am posting my condensed experience on this subject to spare other 103 owners from going nuts/broke or both.
I bought this PIECE at a good price with the intention of reselling it. It had a "fresh smog certificate" and drove it 300+ miles, I loved and enjoyed the smoothness and I immediatly thought what a great grandmas car(I am a die hard mercedes diesel rattling cage fool: 74 240D 4sp).
Anyways the honeymoon stopped abruptly when the car started to show the above symptoms and all other signs of being possessed, I thoght the problem was not "BASIC" tune up related because it flew thru smog.
