87 300SDL run without alternator?

recently bought an 87'sdl around 2am lost the alternator 65mi from home does a mercedes have any way to get fuel without electric(like the bosch ve IP)

80% Defrost only from blower

I have a 1981 300SD. Fixed my A/C. Now all my A/C blows out the defroster. I noticed all modes are 80% out the defrost ducts. Where do I go next? Vacuum? Electrical? Any diagrams available for either?
I do show 15" vacuum at the source. Low I know... seems to be the shift diaphragm on the pump. It also takes about 10 seconds to shut down after key off.

1986 300sdl Transmission problems

HI, Ive got a 1986 300sdl that I have fixed some vaccum lines on and changed transmission fluid in. Transmission shifts perfectly in all gears when cold but after driving awhile it gets stuck in either 2nd or 3rd gear. Most of the time shifting it back into N and back to drive will get it to upshift back to 4th. Would like to know what to look at and how to test. I have 5in vaccum at transmission at an idle. Any help Please and thanks.
