MB 300SD 1982 Rear Driver side door stuck
Dear Kent,
My MB 300SD 1982 Rear Driver side door stuck - I cannot open it. Al other doors open fine. A pull-up lever doesn't move either. Is there any special trick i can fix it myself?
With Blessings,
Sergey

Hot Wire H/AC Blower motor? 86 300SDL Turbo
Well I HAD my blower working.
Don't know why but it up and quit after a couple of days.
I ran 12v to the motor and it works.
I suspect that the Resistor is bad(just a hunch any one know how to check it?)
Would I do damage to anything if I were to bypass the resistor and run wires from the plug (leading into the resistor) to the fan motor?
Or should I put in a toggle switch and run a lead from a hot source?
I realize that it would be on "full" mode when on.
The $400.00 on a resister would be better spent on more important things right now.

front crank seal replacement 83 300SD
n/a I just replaced the front seal using Kents great front seal kit,the instructions were great and everything worked fine. The only thing that I did different, was to unhook the oil cooler from the radiator and snap tie it out of the way, instead of unhooking the oil lines. I do not like to unhook lines if I don't have too.

'82 300SD overheats in 114 deg. stop and go traffic
Kent,
I have a 1982 300SD with a new radiator, hoses, thermostat, fluid with correct ratio, fan clutch, blets all from Mercedes Source. I recently to a trip to Las Vegas where it was 114 most of the time. When driving on the highway at 65 mph I had very normal engine temp and my A/C was ice cold. As soon as I got into stop and go traffic, all bets where off. The engine temp climbed to just under the red and my A/C was warm. The aux. fan was on and the fan clutch seemed to be working just fine. The condenser fins don't look to be blocked either.

1981 300SD passenger seat switch knobs
On my 1981 300SD the passenger seat switch knobs are missing. The switch works fine to run the seat in all directions. It looks like all it needs is the two seat position knobs snaped back on. Are these available anywhere? - Bob

86 300 SDL Turbo/ Lift point Hard rubber buffers
Well....
When I finished the new brush install,
I closed the passenger side front door...
and the darned rubber bumper fell clean outta the bottom.
I quickly got a hammer and a piece of wood and carefully banged the rocker panels....NO HOLES YIPPIE
But what do I do?
Opus is a nice clean ride and I just hope this isn't the beginning of a Hansel and Gretel car.
Any thoughts.
Update:::
Found out that the lift points are called "hard rubber buffers"
Tryed every where ....
any one know where I can get replacements?

Blower Motor & new Brushes/ 86 300 SDL Turbo / TIPS
Not so much a question as some tips
Kent once again has takin the guess work out installing new brushes.
This is a back bender!
If you're real careful, you don't need to remove the underdash cover(fabric)
Loosen the screws and carefully pull towards the rear of the car.
won't move much, but enough to able to pull the plastic cover away from the "waffle" motor/fan cover.
{Left it in because I couldn't figure out how to yank the cover which is fastened with staples to the duct}
Remember: IF YOU FORCE THINGS THEY WILL BREAK!!!!!
As Kent says "take your time"
Well
Took the housing out and used this stuff called "Tuff Stuff" (spray foam cleaner)and cue tips and carefully rinsed the cage with water. DO NOTE SOAK MOTOR.
Sprayed the armature and such with contact cleaner
