Seat not moving & window motor whirring

Just started digging into my brand new 1984 300SD to fix a few essential items; I was told the driver's side seat worked, just needed a new switch. So I ordered a new (used) seat switch and hooked it up and still no action. Any advice on where to go next? Also was attempting to fix my driver's side window... which is turning out to be quite a challenge. The motor works, however, the big drive gear just spins on there.

First off, i would like to offer my thanks and appreciation for your oasis in the desert of dealerships. You folks make the old adage," the only stupid question is the one you don't ask" a reality. You have to love these cars to do what we do and your commitment shines! Now...suggestion..the special tool that you offer for the removal of the 103 water pump is a godsend. you might however offer the tool with this stipulation...PAY ME WHAT IT IS WORTH AFTER YOU USE IT..you might be amazed at the return on that concept!!! Multi accessory electrical short

i have a frustrating situation with my 89 300sel. my #15 fuse is blown, and it will immediately blow if replaced. My seat belt warning light constantly flashes, cabin light will not come on when doors are opened. they can be turned on manually, and my central locking system is inoperative. I realize that I most likely have a positve short to ground. Any ideas about a good place to start looking? Do these three symptoms point to anything specific? WVO Biodiesel Almost Exempt in WA State

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- House Bill 3188 has passed both the House 94 to 1 and the Senate 49 to 0 now it just needs to be signed by the Governor and we will be exempt from road use tax and sales tax for personal use only. The bill was placed on the Governors desk today for signature. Can I hear a resounding yahoooooooooo! Please if you read this let us know how you feel about this.

560 SEL Hydraulic Suspension Bleeding Process

I recently replaced the hydraulic suspension/leveling valve on my 1986 560 SEL. Other than opening the breeder on top of the valve, is there any other step necessary to finish the job and make the suspension operational i.e. loose the connection at the top of each strut to bleed the air between the valve and the strut??

Car shakes violently. Repair front end strut bearings?

Can anyone advise me on repairing worn struts and bearings? When I drive my 87 300SDL, it shakes violently if I'm going 40-50 miles an hour. A mechanic has identified the strut bearings as the problem. (I'm not entirely sure what that means.) He has quoted me $60 each side for the parts, and 4 hours labor charge. Does this sound reasonable? Can I get the necessary parts on this site for less? Is this a repair that could be done at home? I appreciate your replys. Thanks, Erin
