wagon rear end keeps bouncing (bad shocks)?
I recently purchased an 82 300 td. When I am driving the rear end bounces up and down. it has fluid in the reservoir.
Thanks

On rare occasions when I turn the A/C on and select high fan speed the blower is very fast (read powerful) and the temperature is very cold......Great! On other occasions in fact most of the time when the A/C temp is selected and the high speed fan switch is selected the fan is slow and the temperature is warm to cool. Yet at other times if I switch off the engine before switching off the A/C for example when refueling and then turn the engine back on the fan blows H-O-T.
I have been experiencing an occassional power loss for quite some time now. A while back i took care of this problem when i found a loose clamp on the hose going to the hand primer pump. After tightening it and bleeding the system it took care of the problem.
Now i have a small fluid leak that i believe is coming from the bottom of the clear sediment bowl on my FM100. It is too difficult to tighten in its current position, so i have been putting off removing the FM100 filter.
Anyway, my question is this, can a small fuel leak like that be responsible for power loss?
Hello,
My Monovalve, the one that is bolted to the firewall and allows coolant into the heater core, has been stuck wide open, I removed it and it seems to be able to move now that I have cleaned it up a bit, is this item repairable, or should I just buy a new one....
Thanks
I just purchased this car. It starts quickly and idles smoothly but has no power and will only go about 30 on flat ground. I removed exhaust pipe with the cat and muffler, thinking the cat was plugged, didnt help. the previous owner said the turbo got hot and caught the underhood insulation on fire but he got it out quickly and with the exception of 2 vacumn lines it didnt hurt anything. turbo area emits a highpressure air sound, not a turbo whistle,at idle and it gets louder under power. Any suggestions? Thanks Tom Postscript 1st benz Ive owned so have to catch up.
i was just told my transmission was shot in my '84 300TD. I'm wondering if anyone here has replaced a tranny in their benz? Mine has about 250K miles on it and I'm having a hard time justifying the expenditure. If anyone has any experience with this I'd love to hear about it - or any advice for that matter. Thanks.
Our 1979 300D runs great at speed. We just installed Kent's boost pump kit and it really does help starting and idling and did help a little on power too. I was hoping it would also solve our shifting problem as well but it did not. From a dead stop, the car will always start rolling in second gear (which as everyone knows makes it painfully slow) even if I mash the pedal down. It will do this even if I shift into neutral while stopped then shift to drive just before moving.
We've already done the following to this car: recent valve adjustment, timing chain replaced (has good timing now), recent diesel purge, new filters, fuel lines and fuel strainer, adjusted kickdown rod from throttle to transmission (which did improve the shifting above 20mph to earlier shifts for more power).
After driving at highway speed for about an hour and 15 mins, the rearend starts knocking. I can stop the car for at least 5 mins, the knocking goes away until i drive another hour. Then the process starts all over again. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
