Diagnosing Diesel Engine Fuel Injectors

How do you know if they are bad? If they have not been recently rebuilt they probably are!!!

Older Mercedes diesel fuel injectors are often ignored. Why? Well, they can be expensive to replace and as long as the engine seems to be running ok why mess with them... Right? Deterioration is slow and over time you may not notice the gradual decline in performance and only those driving behind you may notice the increase in smoke. When you start noticing you have to fill up more often you should start to suspect the injectors. But why wait that long. When you get those worn out and old technology Bosch nozzles pulled out and replace them with the more modern and efficient Monark nozzles you will be amazed at the difference.

A video is worth a few thousand words.... Check out Kent's related video. He put 55 used injectors to the test. You might be amazed at the results. The moral of the video... Do NOT ignore your injectors.

It is not possible to test them without a pressure tester. Kent has designed the least expensive tester on the market.. He even beat out the Chinese testers... :-) We carry everything you will need to clean and test your old injectors as well as rebuild your own injectos with high performance Monark nozzles. This is not as hard as you think and the results are well worth the effort!
