Removing and repairing the W123 Glove Box Door

Hardest part is removing that weird round slotted nut on the lower hinges!

Anyone who has owned a 1977 to 1985 Mercedes W123 for any length of time has probably had to deal with the glove box. The glove box hinge nuts have to be loosened to adjust the door and they have to come off to remove the door for maintenance. Not so easy if you do not have the right tool.  Trying to use a punch and hammer to loosen it can be very frustrating.

Kent got tired of dealing with this little nut too so he came up with his own special tool. It is a wide blade screwdrive with a special ground tip to get in and easily loosen and tighten the nut.

This tool is now being made in our shop and available for purchase. It comes with a rubber protective tip to preven damage to the narrow tangs and to prevent poking your hand!

If you need to repair the latch on your 123 Mercedes, Kent has also written a manual and has produced a little kit to help with your repair. See related products for more information.
