Buy rebuilt injectors OR rebuild myself, 1983 300D

I'm struggling with the decision over buying the injector rebuild kit (with monarchs) or simply buying the already rebuilt monarchs and returning my cores. I know some of you have gone down this road and I would appreciate any comments and/or advice you could give.
My worry with doing it myself has to do with leaks. It seems like competent folks who are following the procedures are still getting leaks. Has anyone experienced leak problems with the MB Source rebuild injectors?
Thanks and I'm going to make a decision sometime in the coming 2 weeks.

1983 300SD won't keep running

OK.I had an injector return line leaking, replaced it...drove around the neighborhood for few minutes and then went back to the house thinking everything is OK but then when I put it in reverse it cut off.Did the same thing twice more...though there was some more air in the system...bled the injectors and primed the hand pump...btw I just instaled the new upgrade pump...since U don't have to screw it does it have to be all the way down?I pumped until it got tight but it's not all the way down...now the car won't even go forward...it crankes up fine (running a little rough) but when I put it

123 Mercedes 300D Turbo Oil Return Gasket Replacement

Help! So I am in the middle of changing the gasket for the oil return pipe that goes from the turbo to the top of the oil pan and I thought once I started I would figure out a way to get the whole pipe out, but I am about 1/8th of an inch of clearance from being able to get the top half of the pipe off. Is there a secret to this? I searched the internet and the only tip I could find is to remove a heat shield that would give a little more clearance but there must be some further tip as I contemplated that but it didn't look like it would help.

oil leak into air filter '79 300TD

my '79 300TD is leaking and burning oil at an alarming rate. it appears that oil is pooling in the air filter housing (the air filter itself is *drenched* in motor oil and oil is pooled in the filter housing. Also, the tablespoons of oil that pool on the pavement when the engine is hot (it doesn't leak at all overnight or when the car sits cold) are always found underneath, roughly, the air filter housing). also, the car intermittently blows a steady stream of blue smoke from the exhaust pipe that smells like burned motor oil.

Loud Knocking Noise 1981 240D

I have been driving cross country in my 1981 240D (automatic transmission) and I find that when I am going up steep hills that I hear this loud knocking noise begin when I press the gas pedal. This noise disappears when I am on flat ground or going downhill. Is this normal? Or is this a sign of a tranny thats going out? Things seem to be operating normally apart from that. Thanks
