Overheating 93 300d 2.5

Mmmmm so my 300d 2.5 with 176k miles started to overheat at the beginning of the summer. I replaced a worn out fan clutch which fixed the issue for a few months. However now it's starting to run hot again, even worse if I run the a/c or drive hard. I have a thermostat to install however are the water pumps known for going out or the radiators for clogging? Car has no coolant leak. No other driveability issues runs great idle is perfect.

300D 2,5 1991.

I have purchased a thermostat from Mercedessource and have flushed the cooling system. My service manual states that the thermostat body and thermostat for a turbo model must have a green mark. The Behr thermostat I removed has a green centre pin. The replacement one does not. What does the green pin on the thermostat mean. Also you show somewhere how to drill modify a new thermostat. Can you post a link to this.
Thanks in advance.
