300SD - Ok Just what brakes do I have?

I have an 84 300SD (126) and have a question. My shop that is helping me with my car said that my brakes work great (and they do) but the pads are worn. I have read here and in other helpful forums that it can be hard to tell whick brakes your car has (ATE,Bendix etc). Is there a way I can tell what brakes I have so I can order the right replacement pads. I am all fired up now and want to do that on my own also. Thanks in advance guys, Doug in Dallas P.S. I got the new primer pump and it was a super easy install. It works really great and does not leak. Thanks again for that.

84 300SD slightly rough idle with minor smoke from exhaust

Hey there. Quickly I have an 84 300SD. It is in VERY good condition, everything works (kinda scarry) AC,cruise, acutmatic climate control, I mean it is in really excelelnt shape all the way around. 139k miles and I bought it a few months back. I have done your diesel purge, paid a very reputable shop to do a vavle adjustment and they replaced a vacuum pot that was causing a little shifting gremlin. Anyway all is fine except that a new glitch has occured. I started the car the other day and the idle was a bit rough. Nothing earth ratteling but I also noticed that there is a little smoke coming form the exhaust and ther used to be quite literally none that you could see.

84 300SD power steering trouble

howdy. i have an 84 300sd. i have changed and purged the power steering fluid using instructions and filter from mercedes source. when i turn the steering wheel, the car makes a loud squeaky/grating sound. louder as the ends of the turning radius are reached. it's like the oil is not circulating and everything is dry. the reservoir is foamy on top . what's happening? matt

Veggie tank faulty Sending Unit

i'm having some trouble with my sending unit in the veg tank. when the gauge reads half it is actually empty. does anyone have experience with this problem? i'm sure i could take the tank out and clean the unit, but i'd rather not. maybe i could fill the tank with diesel or biodiesel and that would clean out the gunk in the sending unit. thanks matt
