1983 300D oil on piston

hopefully this isn't a double post.

I have apparently 184k miles on a recently bought 300D. It pours out bluish smoke at start up, maybe some whithish mixed in but it's hard to tell.

It bellows out smoke on freeway at full throttle but not really any noticable smoke at constant speed. When i get off the freeway after ~30 miles and idle for a very short time (several seconds) it leaves a smoke trail as seen in rearview mirror and headlights.

1983 300d rough idle, no power

I have a 1983 300d with 155k miles on the engine. I have a rough idle issue and no power on take off. slow as a old dog. I have replaced all diesel filters. in tank screen also. I replaced motor mounts and shocks. performed diesel purge, got lil better, but still same issue. Performed valve adjustment, checked cam lobes, ok. performed cold compression test, found 410 to 405 on 1,2,3,4 and 5 cylinders. replaced glow plugs and relay.checked turbo alda, correct and functioning. checked for blockage, found clean and clear. I really dont know what else can be causing this issue. HELP!

1980 450 SLC Engine Stalling after long run

Hi Folks ,
I recently bought a 450SLC in reasonable condition with a view to restoring.Motor starts fine & goes well.
I took it for a long run a couple of weeks a go & covered about 150kms without incident until I came back to town & stopped at traffic lights. The car started jerking when I took off & started loosing power. I managed to get home with problem slowly getting worse.
I turned the engine off & restarted it a few minutes later & it seemed to be revving cleanly again , but didn't take it out again until a couple of weeks later.

84 300d turbo Valve adjustment and compression test

Two quick questions. I am about to adjust the valves (5cyl 617) to do a compression test on an engine that has not been turned in a couple of years. I just took the valve cover off and everything looks as it should. No sign of corrosion anywhere, oil still present on surfaces.

Should I put oil down the cylinders prior to turning for valve adjustment?

How much in each cylinder?
