overheating on my 1980 300 sd

I have replaced the thermostat, aux water pump, water pump, all hoses, had the radiator rodded out by a radiator repair shop, blower motor replaced and I am still just short of 100 degrees on the cars gauge backed up by an infrared gun. I have checked and my major problem was the radiator as the bottom was cold and the top was running hot. After all this I now have hot all over readings. The thermostat was an 80 degree one and was put in the right way. I am getting heat thru the a/c so I assume there are no bubbles in the system. The top of the radiator reads 100 degrees with thr IR gun.

78 300SD Turbo Connector Hose

Is there a particular type of hose that must be used for the Turbo Connector Hose?

My turbo had a braided hose, similar to that of the fuel line return hoses but larger, that was leaking pretty badly at both ends. I removed it and took it into my local parts store and the guy at the counter said that I needed that particular style hose. He cut me a length of 3/8" fuel hose to hold me over until I could get my hands on some.

Auxillary water pump valve.

On the 80 300sd that I just purchased it had a shutoff valve between the engine block and the tube coming from the auxillary water pump. I have replaced the thermostat and coolant but I was not getting any increase in temp on the hose leading to the aux. pump. I know this has something to do with the climate control so I wanted to see if there was a blockage or if the valve was frozen shut. I used a thermo gun to see the different temps. When I reconnect3ed the hose without the valve there4 was no coolant flowing out so I assume this is where I mite have had a air pocket.
