Dead Tranny? What to Check? (1981 300D)
I’m wondering if my automatic transmission in my ’81 300D W123 is completely dead or just needs some good diagnostics. I’m asking for help on what to check to conclude what needs to be replaced.

123 Knocking/Thumping under carriage?
Knocking or thumping noise coming from under 82 123 300d. Started while driving and continued after stopped and turned off vehicle. Intermitent.

123 Directional lights, Tachometer not working

83 300 CDT 617 Turbo Overhaul
Section 1 Turbo Removal shows compressor bolt removal when hot except for two at 11 and 6 o'clock. With respect to the difficult to access 6 bolt, why wasn't it loosened before the compressor bolts?
Does the turbo drain pipe interfere with removal?
I would prefer to break the difficult turbo bolts before the compressor bolts.
