Upgrading Alternator Amps for DTC
Greetings from Columbus, Ohio. My 1982 Mercedes 300D Turbo Diesel has a glorious Mercedessource DTC system! Only problem I am experiencing is that the alternator can not reliably keep up with the electrical demands. What ampere level would be a good upgrade (150 amp to 300 amp?) and do you have any specific brand/model of alternator you recommend? Trying to eliminate the risk of producing too many amperes as well (if that is even a concern).

Door Locks 93 300D 2.5
After locking my doors with the key all four lock knobs pop open on there own after about 45-60 sec. I can hear a wirring sound comming from the back seat. I am assuming I have a vacuum leak somewhere or a malfunctioned pump under the back seat. Could the door vacuum actuators be faulty? I am trying to keep this simple at first before I need to take the door panels off.

AT Metal Cooler Line Leak
I have an '83 W123 & have just noticed a fast drip coming from the area of the automatic transmission cooler line on the right/passenger side - along the engine & at the very point where the line bolts to the oil pan. I assume that this is the same problem mentioned in the "Alert" section.
Question is, aside from the preventative fuel hose replacement, what sort of actual "fix" can be applied to stop & solve the leak?
Has anyone fully repaired a leaking AT cooler (metal) line?

1977 Mercedes 450sl Starter removal
hello everyone, im having a lot of trouble trying to remove the starter for my 450 sl, 1977, i have got the mane bolt that holds it on, but there seems to be no other bolt.
is there a certain way in getting it out or is there just another bolt somewhere?

83 300TD tach inop
My 1983 300td has an inoperable tach. It periodically will jump around wildly when the engine is run for an extended period at high rpms. Is this consistent with the wire or the amp being faulty? Is there some good way to determine which is faulty wihtout just randomly replacing both? thanks

monovalve failure? 87 190dt constantly blowing hot air
I have an 87 190dt that is constantly blowing hot air regardless of climate control setting- on or off. Any suggestions? I have seen threads on other sites that pointed to the monovalve. Kent, if it is the monovalve have you written a repair book for the 201 chassis yet?

79 300D eaten away vacuum lines
What size vacuum lines are the lines coming through the firewall behind the battery? What size line do I need? They are all broken and brittle from the battery leaking. What else might I need to make these repairs? Gary
