Overheated rear brakes

I drove 15 mi to work, via high way, with e brake partially on. When I got there, the wheel was smoking. I pour gallons of water on them and let it cool down and drove again for about 10 mi. Now I found the brake didn't seems to returned after it's applied, the rear wheels would be almost fully locked after no more than 10 times of braking. The more the brake is applied, the the shallower the pedal gets. So I towed the car back home. What could the heat do to have caused my rear brake to stuck whenever it's applied?

turbo oil line gasket and air cleaner bracket

I recently replaced my air cleaner bracket which required disconnecting and reconnecting the oil line from the top of the turbo. After reassembling everything, the turbocharger leaked oil. There's a paper gasket where the oil line meets the turbo, and I didn't know I'd have to replace it if I ever disconnect the oil line. I got a new one from a local M-B dealer, partnumber A 603 187 05 80, but it's the wrong size. I tried to use the gasket anyway by making cuts in the gasket, but I doubt it is sealed well or will last very long.

timing gear breaks on 420 sel

Hi I am brand new to the forum. My name is Lewis in Nor Cal, I have owned a 1990 420 sel for 3400 miles now. IT has 200120 miles on it, 1 owner and is in perfect shape. Just did new rotors all around belts and oil change. I went to start it on 09/15 and I heard a big bang. opened the hood and found something had made a 2/3" hole in the drivers side vale cover right on top of the timming chain. the motor did not start during this time and has not since. I am going to do a compression check to see if any valves hit pistons etc.

'83 240D Power Steering "Slop"

I've got a '83 240D with Power Steering. Riding down the highway, the steering has quit a bit of play. I'd estimate I can turn the wheel about an inch (5-10 degrees) without any noticeable effect on the wheels. With the car parked and off, if I grab the input shaft to the steering gear box I can turn is about 5-10 degrees before I see any noticeable movement underneath at the control arm. SO I believe most of the "slop" I am experiencing is coming from the gear box and not further down (tie-rods, bushings, etc.). I noticed in the shop manual that there is an adjustment procedure for the gear box. It looks simple enough but shows torque curves through the steering handle travel.

Puddle of diesel under 74' 240d

So lately Ive been noticing a small puddle of diesel under my 240 when it has been parked for an extended period of time. I haven't worked recently and am noticing that puddle getting bigger every day. Where could it be leaking diesel fuel??? Near the injecter pump or is it a cracked fuel line or what? Also, I do know that the engine in the vehicle is not original and that it was recently replaced so could this be the problem any help would be absolutely fantastic. Thanks!
