So lately Ive been noticing a small puddle of diesel under my 240 when it has been parked for an extended period of time. I haven't worked recently and am noticing that puddle getting bigger every day. Where could it be leaking diesel fuel??? Near the injecter pump or is it a cracked fuel line or what? Also, I do know that the engine in the vehicle is not original and that it was recently replaced so could this be the problem any help would be absolutely fantastic. Thanks!

Hi I'm a new MB owner of a 1974 240D automatic. Like all vehicle I buy I change the filters as soon as possible after purchase. I believe the oil filter canister would be behind the injecter pump on the driver side of the motor, but alas no oil canister. The previous owner told me that he had put in a newer used motor after the first one blew. It runs like a top and doesn't have any problems but can anyone tell me where the filter is located. ! Thank you for your advice and help. Troubled MB owner.
As I was tightening the four bolts on my transmission pan after a filter/fluid change one of the heads snapped off. I drilled a pilot hole and tried to use an "easy-out" which immediatly snapped off flush with the bolt. I managed to drill another pilot hole nexty to it and started lightly tapping in another tap. It also immediatly broke off again flush with the bolt. Have I now made it impossible to get that bolt out of the socket? Should I try to redrill a new hole next to it. Someone even suggested superglue!
