injector installation 86 300SDL
Hey Kent when installing injectors back into my 86 300SDL do you recommend a little anti seaze comound on the threads? They came out pretty hard and had a little corrosion on them.

Kent i removed all six injectors from my "86" sdl to check and clean. 1,2,3,and 4 look okay. They have a little carbon and they are still shiney on the bottom.5 and 6 also have carbon but a blueish hew where the others are shiney. Whats up with that? Looks like they got hot Why?
Hi all, my 1984 with 179,000 miles clocked had a litte wet spot under her rear-end today after we went for a cruise. I got underneath her and there was evidence of oil being slung around on the underbody. It was concentrated on the passenger side of the differential but hard to pinpoint. It didn't look like either of rubber boots were cracked so I am leaning towards the axle seal on the differential. Does it sound like I am going in the right direction? Looks like one of those cheap-part-lotta-labor type jobs. Thanks, Mike
My aux fan not working. What do I need to check before buying a replacement?
Thanks
Mike
Car wont start. New strainer, clean tank, new bosch primer pump and assembly, new plasic lines, new feul filters, new glow plugs and all are working, did diesel purge (2 cans). Car runs on diesel purge setup. I'm lost so I took car to foreign car mech (local benz expert) and he tried an electric pump and....ran for one day then died again. He's saying air is getting in lines...but we both have no idea...please help!!!
I'm a diesel novice, but have had lots of old gasoline fueled cars, from 1930's - 1960's. Have had my 300cd for about a year and driven about 7,000 miles. Adjusted 300cd's valves last week (all were a little tight, but ok and was last done about 9,000 miles ago according to records). Replaced glow plugs last year. Had in-tank fuel screen cleaned last year. Now about 1/2 way through a tank of fuel that's about a week old. Started this winter even at 20 degree temp all day. Car now in heated garage. Has been starting and running ok. Driven several times previous day without a glitch.
I've been running through a lot of oil lately so I had my engine cleaned thoroughly and ran it at idle for 30 mins. I noticed that oil was leaking from the grate at the bottom of the transmission, but nowhere else immediately noticeable. I suspect that this is the dreaded rear crank leak that requires engine removal, but would appreciate confirmation before I go out and solicit estimates. Am I correct?
I have come across many who have various sizes of tires on there 300td 14 inch wheels.
Which size would you recommended?
Thanks.
I have a 93 300d and am trying to find a rebuild kit for the turbo. I can't find anything not even who made the turbo and what model number it was. I found the oem part no. A0030969899 (new) and A003096989980 (reman) thats it.
Do you plan on offering a rebuild kit for the turbo? Or know where I could find one?
thanks matthew
Exactly What does that cable mounted on the valve cover throttle assembly that goes to the transmission do? I guess it replaces the vacuum control in pre 1985 models, but what exactly does it do?
Thanks... G
