It is time to replace the water pump. Before I remove the pump, any suggestions on a cooling system flush? Since I have to drain cooling system, maybe I should perform cooling system flush first. As for new coolant, I assume I need to purchase from MB dealer?

Hello, ( 1982 300TD ) Yes, when I turn on my climate controll, my heater is on- invariably, if I jog the little blue/whit/red wheel to blue it stays hot, and not just hot, but unbearably hot, I have to turn it off... any thoughts on the culprit? Thanks James

First off, i would like to offer my thanks and appreciation for your oasis in the desert of dealerships. You folks make the old adage," the only stupid question is the one you don't ask" a reality. You have to love these cars to do what we do and your commitment shines! Now...suggestion..the special tool that you offer for the removal of the 103 water pump is a godsend. you might however offer the tool with this stipulation...PAY ME WHAT IT IS WORTH AFTER YOU USE IT..you might be amazed at the return on that concept!!! 82 300D has slight miss. This engine has 157,000 miles on it and runs good at highway speed. I can losen the fitting on each injector and make it run like a gas engine when you pull a plug wire. Has only slight miss when all injectors are tight. There is definitly a lose in power at low speed taking off from a light etc. The injectors have been pop tested and all are good. Compression test shows around 325 to 350 psi on all cylinders. I have adjusted the valves twice to make sure one was not to tight.
