I am a new owner of a 1967 200D and am looking for a good place to purchase new weather stripping for the entire vehicle, as well as a few electrical items. Anyone know a good company? Thanks for any help.
I had not driven my 190D in a couple of days and then the other evening when I went to town, I noticed that both the fuel guage and temp. guage had quit working. I just bought the car and drove it home a 1000 miles and everything worked great. I have not yet picked up a repair manual. Just wondering if someone could point me in the right direction to start troubleshooting this. Thanks.
Just want to save some other 126 owners some pain. When I lost the plug in to the signal lense,if the wires touch they will fry your signal flasher. Two,the large red and yellow wires coming out of the fuse box get hot and melt together over time.It goes to the glow plugs.I had to pull the wires apart and rewrap with tape.Three there is a replaceable bulb for your fog lamps, about $4.
One of the steps to remove a front suspension spring is to disconnect the sway bar. I'm very wary of doing this. Is it under tension like a torsion bar or will it just disconnect? If it is under tension, how can I reinstall it?

Hi- my 1990 300te wagon has the self leveling (hydropneumatic) rear suspension. The ride in the rear is very stiff/harsh- feels as if shocks are not functioning. I googled this and found that almost always the cause is bad air cell accumulators in the rear and that the shocks themselves seldom go bad. The air cell accumulators are only about $100 each.
This beautiful 1982 300 SD has been making a knocking/banging sound that I think is coming from under the valve cover. The noise is not audible at low RPM or before the engine warms up completely. At higer RPM 1700+ the noise becomes increasingly loud and is directly rythmic with the speed of the engine. After probing the noise with a stick I think it may be from what I think is the oil pump (under the oil filter, or the transmission. The trans was probed at the bell housing also close to the oil pump (I think.) Is there anything that could make a loud noise such as this in these areas?
I read something about a rebuilt bosch injector burning up a piston in a 240d.
Looking for injectors I see some that has improved spray pattern replace only in sets.Is it better to replace with these or the cheaper rebuilts.
82 300 SD I'm getting a vibration (rear)? shortly after I have reached 35 MPH. I had this problem before I put new tires on it also. Is it possibly from one or both of the short shafts? Vibration does not go away when you put it into nuetral. HELP this is really annoying :)
I have an '82 300D and am trying to remove the ignition lock and switch. The key will still usually turn to all positions. I read that the key has to be in position 1 then a wire is inserted and the lock is unscrewed, but I am a little confused about that part. Any help would be appreciated.
I have a '76 300d and i got fuel with water in it out of an old container that was supposed to be sealed. I made it about 200 yards before it died. I have changed both fuel filters taken all fuel lines off and blew them out and turned the engine over until clean fuel was squirting out of the injector pump and i even took the injector nozzles apart and cleaned them to make sure there was no water stopping them up. I have also put new glow plugs in it. It will still not start it will try to hit a time or two when u first try to start it and then no more it just turns over.
