Front turn signals not working due to a faulty bulb socket holder is a common problem with the W116 chassis sedans. I believe is due to a minor design flaw in the metal part of the holder. If you own a W116 I recommend you fix it now before a front turn signal stops working.
Many owners are surprised to learn that their early ML's hood can actually be adjusted to go almost straight up. It is not as easy to do as some of the earlier models where you only had to flip a couple levers.
The FLOW pressure method can be used to both check and set injection pump timing. Personally, Kent likes to use this method only when checking if the I.P. needs adjustment.
DO NOT neglect your W123 hood hinge and firewall corner drains. The problems plugged drains can create arre many and the 123 sedans, coupes and wagons are more prone to front plugged water drains than any other model.
Installing front shocks on a W210 chassis 4matic sedan or wagon is not for the beginner DIY mechanic.
In this video instruction Kent will walk you through the process of doing either a partial or a full flush of your W210 SLS system fluid, including some tips on how to make changing that little filter less frustrating.
I have always dredded replacing a hood release cable. Finally on the last one I did, I decided to do something about those feelings.
In this video instruction, Kent will demonstrate how to check for one possible source of a mysterious front end clunking sound. Any clunking noise you hear when driving over rough ground or when braking should be investigated immediately.
Kent will walk you through the steps to properly adjust the leveling according to factory specifications. He will also cover some of the problems you may run into and demonstrate how he used the new adjusting tools he designed.
In this long video manual Kent will walk you step-by-step through the process of removing the older square style leveling valve from your Mercedes, opening it up without losing the spring and balls, removing the old o-rings and cleaning the parts properly, installing the new o-rings, and putting
Trying to fix a rough or bouncy ride in your SLS Mercedes? Not sure what is causing the problem? Maybe you have heard that it might be the accumulators.
In this video Kent will walk you through the procedure of removing the old accumulators and installing new ones in a W123 300TD wagon. It is a very straightforward job that only takes a couple hours. You will need to raise the car and safely support it on jack stands.
This video will walk you through the procedure of removing the hyraulic reservoir tank and cleaning it and replacing the low pressure hose from the bottom of the tank to the SLS pump. This is the hose that most often leaks.
These are the instructions that come with Kent's brake pad and brake caliper service kit. It is possible to make your own service kit by watching this video. To purchase the kit see related products below. To learn more about the importance of this kit watch the video below:
If you have a 1985 or older Mercedes Benz it is time you flush that old automatic transmission fluid out of the system and replace it with a good power steering fluid. ATF formulations have changed over the past 20 years.
When replacing the front upper control arms you formost need to think about safety. You will need a good quality and large rolling hydraulic floor jack, and a couple good jack stands.
When you remove the old sunroof panel (1985 and older) from you Benz you will probably notice that the edges of the vinyl have come loose from the metal strapping. You will allow notice just how dirty it is once you have it out of the car and into the light.
This video instruction will walk you through the step-by-step procedure of how to do a "service" on your power steering system.
This instructional video covers the procedure for flushing the old hydraulic fluid out of an SLS system and installing new fluid. The example shown in this video is from a W126 560SEC.
Want to try to make your car's engine and engine compartment look like it just came off the showroom? Would you like detailed information on the chemicals, brushes, tools, and procedures Kent uses to get his engine compartments looking so nice?
This one hour long on demand video is included free with the purchase of Kent's OM61x injection pump timing kit. The method he teaches uses his own kit, his custom built pressure tank, and his special IP snake wrench.
Valve adjustment is often neglected on many of the mid 1950's to early 1970's 6 cylinder single overhead camshaft gas engines. If it has been years since any adjustment was made, there will be problems - Kent can guarantee it!!!
Interior water leaks are becoming more common in the 123 chassis sedans, wagons and coupes. Kent believes the reasons are twofold. 1. The W123 is still used all over the world as a daily driver. Thus use, exposure to the elements and age = leaks. 2.
1981 to 1991 W126 Chassis Sedan Vacuum Door Lock Troubleshooting and Repair - On Demand Video Manual
W126 vacuum door locks on the 1981 to 1991 380SE 380SEL 300SD 500SEL 300SDL 420SEL 300SE, 300SEL 560SEL 350SD and 350SDL are prone to problems. For starters the systems are getting old, and with age comes common leaks and failed actuators.

In this video Kent covers the removal and replacement procedures for the sunroof air dam or otherwise known as the air deflector. Using a special technique and a plastic trim tool can prevent damage to the plastic clips. He also covers troubleshooting the reasons for improper operation.
When you are out looking to buy an older Mercedes in this time period you have to be careful. You have heard that these old Benz (particularly the diesels) can go forever! So why is mileage that important. Because contrary to those "myths" they do not go forever without impeccable maintenance.
Tilting power sunroof problems can be many. This is particularly true on roof mechanisms that have not received proper lubrication over the years. One of the first things that can fail is the power sunroof cable.
This applies to those Mercedes with the 722.6x 5 speed automatic transmissions built from 1998 to 2006. They have a cap on the transmission fill tube with the words "MB Workshop Only." Heaven forbid if you break into one of these transmissions!
If your engine is just running hot, it may be due to a plugged radiator or possibly a stuck thermostat. If your engine is just losing coolant it could be a leak in the water pump, radiator or hoses.
Door panels have to come off when fixing power windows, power seat switches and wiring, door check straps, door latches and locks, and clearing drains. Lubrication is a key factor in preventing premature failure on a number of interior door components. You have to remove the panel to lubricate!
In this video Kent will go through the process step-by-step of properly installing new air filters in your 500 series larger V8 models produced after 2000. If not done properly you can damage the engine cover and possibly the engine itself.
