87 190E 2.3 Engine 102.985 Replacement pump does not match
I have purchased a replacement water pump and when in the process of installing I noticed the pump has what looks like an extra hose fitting in the 6 oclock position. The hose fitting size I.D. looks to be about 10mm. The original pump does not have this hose fitting.
I reviewed several parts sites concerning this year, model and engine and they all show pictures with this hose fitting in the 6 oclock position. I have pictures to show if necessary.
Do I have the correct water pump?
What is the fitting for?
I thank you in advance for your help.

1984 190D Cylinder 3 Misfires
My 1984 190D 2.2L sounds like it's missing on one cylinder, there is a chuffing sound coming from the tail pipe. There is also a knocking sound that is most easily heard when letting off the throttle.
I did a compression test and all four cylinders were between 420-440 psi which was encouraging. Then I ran two cans of diesel purge through but there was no change, even while the car was running on the diesel purge.
