I was closing up the manual sunroof on me old'81 300TD wagon and as I was twisting it to latch, the handle snapped off into my hand. Roof is closed but not raised at the back edge. Hmmm... anybody had this happen and had it fixed or better yet fixed it themselves? Not sure where to start- all advice welcomed on this! And thanks in advance! Diesel Don. My 300D wouldnt turn off after doing oil and gas filter change..I knocked off a vacuum line..but i tried cutting off engine with the red stop button located ion engine compartment and it didnt functio...any help with that?
Will front seats from an 82 300d fit into an 85 300d without any modifications?
Hi all. My car is running sweet with one minor flaw. After driving at highway speed, 60-75 mph, when I get off and hit the light at the end of the exit ramp the car idles rough. Then I drive around town for a while and the idle smooths out and it runs normally again. I plan on doing a valve adjustment as soon as my wrenches are delivered and I am hoping that is it. Has anyone experienced this and can they confirm I heading in the right direction?

I'm going to try this question again. My 79 240D just got a new (used but better than it had) engine.
The engine starts good when cold (20 degrees now) and has good power for it's age.
I'm running Schaeffers 9000 series 10/30 synthetic. Had good luck with this oil in other diesels we own including old dodge cummins, and our new 09 volks 2.0 tdi.
And maybe what it's doing is no big deal, but it doesn't seem right.
I am new to the diesel benz world. I am having problems with water getting in trunk and on interior floors. I have ordered new trunk seal as well as all door seals. Is there another secret or spot water can get in? Please help. Thank you
