1981 300D: Valve adjustment = shifting problems

Short story - a rushed valve adjust on a 1981 300D. While moving vacuum box attached to top of valve cover, ALL five vacuum lines became dislodged. And no, I didn't jot down a diagram or take a photo first. So, I put the lines back in as best I could remember, but now the inevitable shifting problems have appeared. Seems fine on level, but not so hot on hills (revs as if slipping intermittently, doesn't shift or downshift correctly some times). All was just fine before the valve adjust. And I can't find any other dislodged lines or cracked lines/connectors. I know little of this, but it seems the positioning of the five vacuum lines leading to the rubber block attached to the valve cover box is critical.

1980 W123 A/C issues

A/C doesn't work, the DEF is the only switch that works, used a jumper wire & started the compressor, works fine. There is no power at the switches on the dryer & no power at the switches on the CC console, also, the vacuum hose that goes into the 6 point distributor does not hold vacuum, what are some things I can check before taking drastic measures.

Upgrading Alternator Amps for DTC

Greetings from Columbus, Ohio. My 1982 Mercedes 300D Turbo Diesel has a glorious Mercedessource DTC system! Only problem I am experiencing is that the alternator can not reliably keep up with the electrical demands. What ampere level would be a good upgrade (150 amp to 300 amp?) and do you have any specific brand/model of alternator you recommend? Trying to eliminate the risk of producing too many amperes as well (if that is even a concern). Many thanks and keep on Greasing! --- Chris Konik
