Hello,
I've got a 1979 300SD which has an electrical problem. The fuse that runs the brake lights, turn signals, and fuel gauge keeps blowing. I looked in the trunk at the brake lights and unhooked a trailer brake light harness, because I thought that might be it...but it was not.
Any suggestions?
thanks,
Jeff
I recently replaced my air cleaner bracket which required disconnecting and reconnecting the oil line from the top of the turbo. After reassembling everything, the turbocharger leaked oil. There's a paper gasket where the oil line meets the turbo, and I didn't know I'd have to replace it if I ever disconnect the oil line. I got a new one from a local M-B dealer, partnumber A 603 187 05 80, but it's the wrong size. I tried to use the gasket anyway by making cuts in the gasket, but I doubt it is sealed well or will last very long.
My rear lower control arm is rusted about on third of the way around the area where the shock fastens on. I'm considering welding on some sort of plate or bracing and then just using some por15 to keep the rust from spreading. Just wondering if this is a bad idea or if anyone has had a similar problem?
Replaced a/c compressor, evacuated and charged a/c, tested for leaks (found none), replaced a/c belt, replaced receiver dryer, replaced expansion valve, flushed a/c lines. I had cool air (not cold - about 60 degrees at vent) for about three days. Now the air is neither cool nor dry. With the a/c switched on at start up, I hear a squeal. Accelerating eliminates squeal and it doesn't return. Belt is tight. Everything seems to be right but, something isn't and I can't figure it out. Can anyone help me diagnose and fix this?
Hi All:
I have some water accumulating in two places, I cannot find the source of either. In the trunk, behind the driver side wheel well. The gaskets on doors and trunk are all new. There is a small seam in the rear window gasket.
Also, there is water draining from the car, under the driver side front door. I cannot see anywhere that this could be coming from.
Thanks in advance for any help.
