W116, BENZ AID - COMMON QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
someone put 134a in my '84 SD. Can I go back??
I was getting things together to get started, new drier, new expansion valve, refrigerant and 'oil..' I was going to draw it down today-- and get to work this afternoon.. My freeze-12 (drop in "Freon" replacement) arrived a couple days ago.. Here's my problem.. Uncapped the lines, to find one has been "retrofitted" to 134a. My questions are: 1) can I just wrench that off?? It looks like it's just a screw on fitting. 2) the BG refrigerant oil is compatible with both 134 AND R-12 "freon" so I'm thinking that isn't an issue.. 3) do I need to replace the receiver drier and expansion valve, and pretty much, go on with my life??

valve orientation when installing manual climate kit
I have a question about the "Manual Climate Control Override" kit, specifically about installation of the valve included in the kit.
The valve has an arrow on it, apparently indicating flow direction. But there was nothing in the MercedesSource instructions addressing valve orientation. Does it matter which way the coolant flows through the valve?

Getting WVO From Outside Drums
I am seriously considering getting one of Kent's dual tank kits for WVO. I have found two good sources for WVO that put out about 60 gallons a week each into outside drums or a large dumpster kind of thing. The oil looks okay and I can see through it in a sampling jar. I am still letting it settle out. My question is about the exposed dumpster and drums. It could get all kinds of things in it. Sometimes the lids are part off. Is this okay as long as you let it settle for 3 weeks and then filter it carefully?

Engine won't rev when cold
I am thinking of buying at a 1980 300 cd turbo . The engine starts fine but it will not rev/drive until it warms up for 5 minutes. Is this something as simple as a thermostat stuck open or possibly a binding turbo. The odometer says it has 160K miles, the oil pressure is about half way between the 1 and 2 when warm.
Thanks,
Peter

Coupe rear windows..HELP!
Help! Live in Hawaii and need rear 300d coupe windows. The window rails that hold in the glass have rotted out, preventing me from closing the windows. And, yes it rains pleanty here.
Does anyone know of any salvage spots or folks with a dead coup?
Please send me any tips!

Faulty start - neutral saftey switch
Hi everyone, Please ignore the previous post, becuase I discovered that the car starts immediatly if the gear shift is in neutral rather than park. I believe this indicates a faulty neutral saftey switch. Is this the correct diagnosis? Thanks again! mARC

brake pedal goes to the floor
Hello out there, I have an '83 300td wagon and I have lost braking,
I replaced the master, bled the lines, & replaced calipers. Could a bad booster or vacuum pump give the symptom of pedal-to-the-floor?
Everything I've read and know from past experience says no it should just be a "hard press". please help!!!

Diesel "wobble" & groaning turning right
I have a 1984 300SD & it has developed a "groaning" sound when I turn right. I jacked it up & with the car running turned the wheel, no sound (most likely because it does not have the weight on it). I grabbed the tire I turned the tire hard manually & got a little noise from what I believe to be the "Guide Joint" on the top of the Steering knuckle. It looks to be in great shape. Any tips to solving or isolating the problem?
