Old axel had enough play to remove. Can't get new axel compressed enough to get into wheel hub (can type). Several Internet articles just said to jack up differential housing. This still does not give enough room. Looks like no way to remove hub without removing lower control arm. Any ideas or tricks to this?

3 months ago I replaced all my glow plugs and used the reamer tool to clean out the carbon build up.
3 weeks ago the glow light stayed on after the engine started. I stopped twice on the way home to kill the engine and restart it.
3 hours ago my glow light mostly stayed on and I hit every green light on my commute. So I didn't stop and restart the engine. By the time I got home the battery was almost dead. Now I'm charging the battery and wondering about tomorrow.
Hot air is coming out of the appropriate places on drivers side, but ambient temp air from the passenger side. Buttons on dash change air routing but still temps remain as above. I have the automatic climate control. Both hoses of the monovalve are hot. Any suggestions. Days of internet searching have come up empty. 1985 300 D eurodelivery model 280,000 mi.

Had a bad glow plug, replaced all glow plugs but now the relay light does not come on and can’t start car. Tested continuity from plugs to relay all test good, tested power at the relay seams all good. Not sure where to look now.
There's a seal which is worn behind the catalytic converter and turbo on the back of the block which is causing a rattle. Do I have to remove the turbo to get to it?
Re '82 300SD. Climate control switches blow air at normal rate (auto and full-on), but it only warms up at idle (e.g. stopped at traffice light). Otherwise it is cool but not cold. I replaced the thermostat; engine warms up quickly to operating temp. When fan turned off (not on auto or full on), I can feel nice warm air at side vents, so warm air seems to be in the hoses. But press the buttons and it's only cool air. Is this a monovalve issue? Something else? Thanks.
I am collecting water in the perforated area on the trunk lid. After a rain, when I open the trunk lid, water start pulling out from the holes in the under portion of the trunk lid, the trunk gasket is fixing good, I cannot figure out where the water is coming from and how it is getting in the perforated area. As soon as i open the trunk lid the water that was collected in the perforated portion of the trunk lid, start pouring into the trunk. I am open to any suggestions, there is no water in trunk well areas.
I have a 1991 300E. I just recently purchased this car from a lady, and it needs lots of minor TLC.
Right now I am trying to figure out the horn. I have looked in both of the manuals I purchased for the car online and there is no information on the horns.
I did see some information that suggested you replace them, and silly me I did just that. Also cleaned up the area where they bolt to the frame in front of the radiator. Cleaned the wires up. But no sound comes forth.
When I turn the light switch to the right to either park or full head lamps, the exterior lamp out warning lights. Also, the brake lights fail to come on when pressing the brake pedal. I replaced all three brake lamps with new lamps with no success. Might this be a brake switch problem? If so, how do I test it?
