I have a 86 560 sl my steering box is leaking and i would like to fix this problem how would i start .I am working at my home what would i do ? are there any instrutions for me and should i get a rebuild or just have this one rebuilt? where do i start? richard raffo

Ohms range of fuel sender 1974 115 240D

Help! Does anybody know the Ohms range of the fuel tank sender in my 1974 240D? I'm looking to replace the fuel gauge and need something that uses a similar Ohms range. Thanks

Dead 81 300D - No Start

Haven't had time to troubleshoot this, but I thought I'd throw out the symptoms to keep me away from any dead ends. 1981 300D, 200K: 1. Started and drove car twice in AM yesterday. 2. Sat for 3.5 hrs and then was completely dead- no starter action, no lights, interior lights work, some dash indications, all dying when cranking attempted. Chattering coming from glow plug relay. 3. Given the totality and suddenness of these symptoms, I'm wondering about a short that just happened during this short interval of rest. 4. Tried jumpering - no response, and the cables got warm at the source vehicle.

89 300SE starting issues

I have 1989 300se that was running quite fine until recently. I had just gotten off the freeway and came to a stoplight. when I turned the corner and accelerated the car suddenly ceased to speed up and sputtered like it was runnin out of gas. Well with over half a tank of gas I knew it was not the problem. The car died at the next lite and would not restart. Tow truck driver suggested fuel pump. Well I replaced pump, filter , and the thign next to that(accumulator?) Now, car cranks but it seems like I am not getting spark at the plug nor fuel at the injector .
