Understanding the Difference Between a Non-Tilting Verses a Tilting Sunroof

Both are repairable by the DIY mechanic with the right knowledge and supplies.

The tilting roof is a lot more complicated and difficult to repair than the non-tilting sunroof. Both suffer from lack of lubrication, so even if yours is working now don't get too confident. If it is not removed and properly lubricated about every five years expect something to fail. Dry tracks and mechanisms just put too much strain on the components - leading to stripped cables, worn out motors, broken tilting arms, stuck sunroofs, etc.
