In this video Kent covers the removal and replacement procedures for the sunroof air dam or otherwise known as the air deflector. Using a special technique and a plastic trim tool can prevent damage to the plastic clips. He also covers troubleshooting the reasons for improper operation. Why would you want to remove the air dam? There are a number of reasons with include forward sunroof water drain clean out, rust repair, cleaning and detailing, lubrication, and component replacement.

If your air dam is not popping up when you open your sunroof, then something is likely wrong with the springs, the spring holder pins, or the plastic clips. The complete air dam assembly must be removed in order to determine the problem and fix it.
