1984 300sd Vacuum Readings
1984 300sd: Need to know vacuum spec. readings other than the'ol 20-23"
from the main vacuum hose.
Does anyone know the readings to:
transmission modulator value= 15-20"?
shutoff valve value= NEED THIS ONE
door actuator value
ignition switch
door check valve at firewall
Are the readings all suppose to be the same? 20-23 in of vacuum
I have Kent's books but do not see vacuum readings at the different branches of different systems aforementioned.
Thanks, Rafe.

85 300SD water leak left rear floor
When it rains or snow collects on the car, my 85 300SD collects a BIG amount of water in the area behind the driver's seat on the floor. The passenger side (side of the battery tray) is completely dry. The sun roof seals are dry and need replacing. Could that be where the leak is coming from? I read there are drainage holes around the sunroof and they get plugged...? The car is 80% restored after sitting outside for about 13 years. The engine is a factory replacement, but after purchasing it from a wrecked condition, there were no written records of maintainence.

82 240D transmission flaring on upshift
1982 240 D w/ 180k. Transmission flares ( sounds like its slipping) on all upshifts. Worse when car is under load (ie. uphill or hard acceleration) . Not as noticeable on manual shifts. Recent fluid/filter change no help- old fluid looked great- no metal in pan. Adjusted vacuum mod. valve for firmer shifts w/ no change. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Jon

1984 300D rear shock top washer lost
While replacing my rear axle, I unbolted the shock from the top (per the instructions). Unfortunately, I just left the washer on there while I lowered the shock with a jack.
When I got the axle installed in the hub, and raised the shock back to its normal position, I heard a clunk and looked to realize that the large washer on top had fallen off. I have looked in there the best I could and can not seem to find it. I have a temporary solution on there currently which consists of two washers that are slightly smaller in diameter than the correct one. The substitute is only there so that the whole assembly doesn't fall down, and I would like to get a correct one on there as soon as possible. Preferably before I start driving it again. (it's parked right now while I fix a few major items)
