Water Separator Bowl

So I've got the FM10 Water Separator filter in place, and I'm wondering if it's okay that my biodiesel is actually filling the separator bowl and is visible? I imagined that only water would drain off into it (when present) but perhaps this is incorrect? thanks, tbird

"Core Support" location on W126

I bought an FM10 water separator filter for my 1982 300SD, and in the instructions it suggests that I mount it to the left front "core support" bracket. After surveying for a spell, I was unable to locate this bracket in the engine compartment. Can anyone point me, via other reference points, to this bracket? Thanks in advance, tbird

Exhaust Leak From Manifold Or Turbo on a 300SD

I noticed a bit of soot in the instrument panel of my '84 300SD. I also get a few specks of soot on the grille and under the hood. My guess is that I have a minor leak somewhere on the exhaust side of the engine. Is there anywhere that seems prone to leakage? Exhaust manifold gasket, turbo gasket, etc.?
