1984 300sd Rims Tires
What size rims will fit my 126 300sd 1984, Anyone have a suggestion to what brand rim I should purchase. I would like to move up a size, from 14 to 15. I have the original 14 inch stock alloy wheels on the car now.

79 300d transmission issues - flaring/misengagement
Just want to verify these issues are covered in the new guide for pre-80 transmissions...just had the transmission throttle linkages adjusted and added the recommended LucasOil. After a few hundred miles, the transmission now flares between 2-3rd and redlines for many seconds before a shift from 1st to second (but only sometimes). It also seems to engage two gears simultaneously sometimes for a short time.

71 220D shifting solutions?
1. Tranny shifts immediately from 1 to 2 in nearly all situations short of full throttle.
2. When driven with lever left in 4th position, shifts well from 2 to 3, but shifts too soon to 4th.
3. When driven with lever left in 3rd position, shifts hard from 2 to 3.
4. I've adapted by starting out with lever in 4th position (to ease 2-3 shift), then moving lever to 3rd position and keeping it there until I'm ready for 4th.
5. This has the Bowden cable. Indicator window isn't accurate -- is off by 1 gear.

82 300D vac pump check valves
onsimple vac overhaul kit for late model pump with 3 check valves does it matter which check valve goes on top or the 2 on bottom,are they all the same,i know top check valve faces away from engine and bottom face engine with flat surface out,but i did notice to dimples in 2 check valves,are they supposed to go on bottom or does it matter?

85 300TD Rear Wheel Bearing Race Problem
Have run into a real problem on my 85 300TD...apparently my right rear wheel bearing seized at some point, shattered the race (well, two pieces) and the new race won't press in (just slides in by hand...no interference fit.) Do I need a whole new wishbone back there? Kinda looks like it....can these even be had?
Given the rust issues...I'm wondering if it's time to jury-rig it by JB-Welding the race into the carrier to get the race in and relegate the car to short trips and focus on my W124.

77 300D Engine Transplant options
recently, my 1977 300D W123 diesel engine seized. Ive come across a 1984 300SD turbo Diesel W126. Can I transplant the turbo Diesel complete into my 1977 w123. I planned to transplant the engine, transmission, and rear axel.
Will this work? The reason Why I ask is because I am not sure if there is any wiring, or vacuum lines that wont interchange, or need to be added. Please advise. Thank you for taking time to help.

1987 300SDL abs light on
My abs warning light came on last night after a hard stop in the rain-this happened shortly after I ran over a large tree branch which broke up and struck the underside of my vehicle in various places-the brakes still feel as if operating normally and stop the vehicle just as before the light came on- any suggestions as to where to start? I have ordered Kent's brake manual but it will be several days before I get it-Thanks!

85 300TD a/c compressor won't work
I recently converted my a/c on my 85 300TD to R134. The system had a huge leak in the suction hose, which was replaced. The system was evacuated and I added three 11-ounce cans of refrigerant, but the compressor will not turn on. It was working fine before, so I was wondering if there was a switch or something that is not functioning properly, or if more R134 needs to be added.

Re-balance after wheel repaint job?
Repainted my 300SD wheels with the kit from Mercedes Source
(Does a great job). Do I need to have the wheels balanced after this?
Removed several years worth of brake residue(on the backside of wheel) and was wondering if this would have any influence on balance.
