Alda lock nut "sleeve" ('83 300SD/W126/OM617)

In Kent's manual '61x Automatic Transmission Tuning', on page 17, there is a description of how to adjust the ALDA.

You show a wrench around the locking nut. On W126's at least, the locking nut is not exposed. I cut the plastic cap off, but there is a metal "collar" or cylinder surrounding the screw & nut. This cylinder appears integrated to the top part of the aneroid capsule body itself, with no obvious way to remove it. There is no mention of this in the instruction.

How do W126/OM617 owners get to the locking nut with this collar so close around it? I think this may be the cause of some reports of people breaking theirs (trying to adjust the screw without loosening the lock nut).

- must the car be off for the adjustment?

1982 300sd - intermittent heat

1982 300sd - heater blows warm for about 5 minutes then heated air turns cool. should i replace monovalve, then try solenoid that activates. turning heater to off then back on sometimes results in heat flowing again, but not always. turning car off then restarting returns heated air. i think malfunction in monovalve, but solenoid may be at fault as well. how do you diagnose which piece to replace or both? any sources for solenoid besides dealer?? i noticed you are sold out of solenoid

'91 350SD Differential Mount

I just replaced my differential mount. Yes, it fixed the rear sag problem!! One of the 4 13mm bolts that hold it into position on the subframe snapped off inside the subframe while removing the old mount. Is there a way to get that piece out of the hollow subframe member so I can replace the bolt (assuming the threaded insert is ok...I suspect it may be rusted, thus the break)? Are bolts 3 enough to hold the mount in place?
