1982 300 cd Crank Pulley Failure Sheared Bolts

Lost power steering and thought that the belt had simply broken. Instead found that the belt had come off. In any event started the car again to a most annoying racket. Upon looking at the crank pulley assembly noticed that it was awry. Figured I would start by removing the belts and ordered a new set and the belt replacement sourcelet.

1982 300d Window relay?

I am troubleshooting an intermitent power window issue. Replaced the window switch on the driver's side and seemed to solve the issue. Later all four windows did not work. Tested fuses in fuse box (OK), checked contacts at both driver and passenger switches. Is there a FUSE RELAY or other item I should check before tracing the entire wiring system? I am assuming that such a relay exists...
Many thanks. --- Chris Konik

engine stumbles on acceleration Still 1983 300 CDTd

I noticed a slight "stumble"(for lack of a better word)when accelerating from a stop on slight inclines and by the end of the week it became worse doing it when accelerating from any incline and up into higher RPM. But I still had plenty of power. So I put in new Monark injectors, a valve job, new fuel filters and a Purge. Still have the stumble at lower RPM but has tons of power after the tun up. I have no problem hitting 80 at the end of the on ramp. Any idea's of where to look next? Could the fuel pump need something?

81 240D finding a Manual Transmission Replacement ??

Not really a do-it-myself'er, but figured I'd check in for some help/advice.

My engine has 149,000 miles and I've owned it for the past 40,000.

This morning, I was backing out of my parking spot and was having trouble shifting into reverse. Put it in 1st and it then shifted smoothly into reverse. Didn't experience and problems driving 10 miles to work.

85 CD engine vibration

I'm still troubleshooting a constant vibration. In gear, out of gear, standing still or moving. I have a constant vibratiion beginning at about 1000 RPM and does not go away at any RPM and gets downright noisy at highway speeds. It has a chug-chug sound that can be felt in the ears and the butt. More annoying than anything, but I'm sure eventually things are going to begin to vibrate loose on an otherwise solid vehicle.

Hard & rough cold-starting in 1982 300D-T

I'm hoping someone can readily identify this issue before I have to break down and shell out for a mechanic due to the urgency of getting it resolved... My ASTM-certified-biodiesel powered 1982 W123 300D-T is having issues with starting up first thing in the morning. It has gotten bad over the past couple of weeks to the point where it won't always fire up on the first try or two. When it does catch, it "chugs" really hard, smokes light-to-medium gray like a chimney and generally sounds grumpy for a bit before smoothing out.

300SD steering "wander" problem ??

My 1983 300SD with 350,000 miles tends to "wander" / weave from side to side at highway speed when on a stretch of road that has grooves (running paralel to the road).
Would the cause be most likely a worn out steering gearbox or the idle arm bushing (or both). I had difficulties before trying to adjust the nut on top op the steering gearbox and finally settled on what was tolerable because I could not achieve ideal.
I replaced the steering shock absorber 3 years ago.
Any thoughts? Thanks, Dieter

300sdl wvo conversion location

Can anyone who has mounted the FM 100 filter/circuit boss on their 300sdl please post a few pictures of where and how they mounted it? i am tempted to mount it closer to the firewall than most conversions that is have seen. I am considering mounting it to the engine side of the divider toward the midline of the fuse box (right in front of the steering column.)

are there any problems accessing any other vital parts if the system when mounted in any particular spot? Any help would be welcome.
