1984 300D, little bell shaped device?

Hi all. I just installed new Bilsteins all the way around and the difference in the ride is noticeable. As I was on my back (driveway project as Mercedessource calls it) putting the driver's side rear shock in, I noticed a little bell-shaped part with a small fuel line or hose connected to it. It is located just in front of the rear wheel attached to under-chassie and in from the rocker panel. I really didn't bother tracing where the hose led to or came from and I don't know if there is one on the other side. My only guess is a vent for the fuel system.

Fuel leak into trunk 82 123

I recently parked my car on a steep hill with the passenger side downhill. When I returned to my car there was fuel leaking down the street and inside the wheel well in the trunk. I unclogged the rubber piece that lets water out of the trunk and drained the fuel out. I use biodiesel and I don't see any worn through parts. Any idea how the fuel got into the trunk, all seems normal now but I wanted to make sure there weren't any safety issues.

1994 Mercedes SL320 Roadster... Radio - turns on and lights up but no sound

n/a
This started out as an intermitent problem....but now just doesn't work at all.
We have a SL320 Roadster and the radio turns on (everything lights up) but no sound....no sound from CD player & weather channel as well.
The power antenna does not go up and that's a sure sign that the radio won't make any sound.
It doesn't seem to be sending a signal from the radio to the powe antenna & amp in the trunk.
The only thing we have done so far is check to make sure all connections are intact...which they are.
Any ideas?

removing undercoating/rust 1979 300D

I was wondering what the best way to remove stock undercoating is for the at home mechanic?

Also, I seem to have a pretty large rust problem. I have Miracle Paint and would like to attack it from top and bottom but it seems like one of the screws holding down my passenger seat is rusted to the body. How do I get it out? Of course it's the right rear screw, the hardest to reach to begin with.
