Heater Blower Motor Won't Run

A common problem on all models. Options for repairing it yourself and saving big $$$.

If your heater motor won't come on, first check your fuse or relay. If you are not sure if the switches are the problem, we recommend you get the covers off and power the motor directly with a 12 volt power source. If the motor will just not run, many times the problem can be solved by just replacing the brushes in the motor.  Other times a replacement motor will have to be installed.

Problem & Solution

Common among these chassis:

R107
W114
W115
W123
W124
W126
W201

Depending on the chassis this can be a either a simple or back breaking job.  If you have a 108, 109, 114 or 115 chassis you will have to remove the center console and dash to get to the motor.  If you have a 107, 116, 123 or 126 Chassis access to the motor is quick.  For the 201 and 124 chassis it takes a little more work as you have to remove the wiper and intake air vent assembly.
