This clip is unique to these engines. The picture below will show you where it is attached to the fluid outlet tube on the tank. This is a genuine Mercedes part.

These are the critical seals that go on the D-jetronic fuel injectors. If they leak air, your engine with idle high, start poorly and run lean, which can damage the pistons. We recommend you replace these whenever you remove and replace the injectors.

Let's face it. These fuel tanks and now 50 years old and most are not squeaky clean inside. There is a fuel tank screen that will catch most particles if the screen is in good shape. But I have found that it will not catch the very fine rust particulates that are so common in these old cars.

Removing the front rubber engine mounts requires getting under the car and going up inside a hole in the subframe to remove the main bolt. And it can be a bear! I don't know who they hired to tighten these at the factory, but he must have been a brute.
