A/C turns to heat on downshift '82 300CDT

This question has been driving me crazy since this summer.

The A/C on my car works fine until I am forced to slow down or come to a stop, when this happens the A/C quits blowing cold and starts blowing extremely hot air, hotter than the highest heater function. My theory is that the phenomena happens in conjunction with a downshift in the transmission but beyond that I don't know what to do. The dealer wanted to start throwing parts at it but that can be very expensive without knowing. The compressor seems to be ok.

Help would be appreciated.

Plastic radiator neck kit- Well worth it!

For a couple of years I've seen your notice about the weak Behr radiator neck and the suggestion to fix it with your repair kit. But it would never happen to me, right?

Last week I found what I thought was a loose clamp on the neck of the radiator. When tightening the screw the hose came off in my hand taking off the first inch or so of the neck with it! Digging out the small end the neck from the inside of the hose I ordered the repair kit from you and made a very successful repair.

Thanks for coming up with that kit-you saved me mucho bucks and aggravation I don't need.

1982 300D rough, low idle during warmup only

My problem has been coming on slowly, it seems whenever starting the car hot or cold i have to depress the accelerator pedal once before turning the key and it will start no problem, use to not have to do that. now that it is getting colder outside after doing this procedure on the first start of the day the engine seems to have a low rough idle and sometimes have to hold the accelerator with slight pressure to keep the car from stalling, also some of the time the idle will slowly surge a few times, once the coolant temp gauge starts to rise the problem will go away.

1979 300SD suddenly lost power ... replaced alternator regulator ... help

1979 300SD suddenly lost power this afternoon ... the battery will not hold a charge.

The Internal Alternator Voltage Regulator was replaced.

Afterwards, for a few minutes, there was in intermittent "screeching sound" which has not reoccurred.

The old regulator, a Bosch unit that was made in Brazil look tired to say the least. Were the original regulators etc all made in Brazil?

When turning the ignition key, the battery warning light stays on in the dash cluster ... but none of the other lights work.
