1978 300 D Cracked head?

The 78 300 D that i rescued from the crusher about 30 thousand miles ago ran hot recently. The driver told me it just steamed up...started knocking and died. (she was not paying attention to gauges).

the water pump had gone south...no water left in system.

installed a new pump. it fires up easily. runs..no bad noises. bo big smoke. no water in oil...But it starts to miss when it heats up and the radiator cap is on. pop the cap and relieve the pressure it smoothes out.

Im thinking it has a cracked head or block and the pressure is forcing steam into a cylinder(s). anyone have any ideas on that. makes sense to me...
but i have never dealt with this type problem before.

anyone ever have any luck with block sealers they sell over the counter.

1980 300D Ben Alternator Bracket

I bent the forked portion of the atlernator brakcet that the adjustment bolt passes through and was wondering if bending it back into place is an option or if I should just buy another. I don't relish the idea of dropping a hundred plus dollars on a new/used one of these; would like to salvage what I have if it can be done.

Thanks for the help!

1984 300TD crank/no start

I just bought this car. Auto trans. Sat for 6 months. 150k miles. Just replaced battery and fuel filters. I read other posts. Glow plugs read starting from front(#1 10.7v,#2 10.8v, #3 10.9v, #410.9v, #5 11v). Loosened one injector line and fuel was coming from it.

Seems that I have fuel and power to glow plugs. Its 70 degrees out.

What is next? Comrpression test? Should I buy Physical Exam kit and then adjust valves and do a comrpession test?

Any guesses as to what problem is?
