I'm unable to use my windshield washer fluid. The end of my turn signal switch doesn't pull out; it seems to be stuck. Anyone else have this problem?
My mechanic wants to replace the entire switch at an outrageous cost, but I'm wondering if there's any way to take it apart and get it functional again on my own.
I've been running 100 percent bio in a 76 MB 240D, just fine for a couple months now, but it's starting to get cold in Oklahoma. Recently I've noticed significant hesitation when trying to accelerate in 3rd and 4th and sometimes at the top end of 2nd. But it doesn't do it on all trips -- just off and on. Is this likely from clogged filters or could it be the injectors? I installed the Monark fine-mist injectors several months ago, and it's been running fine until recently.

I am about to fix a 1976 300D that does not change over to heat when you turn the A/C off. We bought it from a dealer and know very little of the car's maintenance/repair history. I can tell that the car was well maintained and runs/drives great. The heater slide controls are working, but whatever is supposed to happen when you turn the A/C knob fully counter clockwise is not functioning. I was wondering if anybody knew of a common problem that I should look for when I repairing this.
Hi,
I have a '76 240D with an Elsbett conversion kit. Installed right before mercedessource came out with their own kit. Installed the auxillary fuel pump & works great. Also installed an injector line heater wrap. I wish I had gone with the heater Ken offers, didn't know he had it. Another regret, I had someone else install the Auxillary pump and injector wraps and although they work fine, they didn't do as good as a job as I would have, if I had the time to do the work myself. Now I have an Elsbett heat wrap around the the filter, injector line heat wrap and the auxillary pump all pulling juice, works fine but the wiring is getting messy. So three things I'd like to change/correct:
I just got a 1974 240D. Does this car have a 3 or 4 speed automatic transmission? The owners manual doesn't really say. I feel the transmission shift twice, 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. Do I have a gear out? Thanks, Neil
