I purchased a 1985 300d 617.952 motor. I would like to transplant into a 1981 300sd. Will it work? If it will work what do I need to know? Any tips and tricks? Any parts need to come off the old motor? Thanks in advanced for all your help!

1985 300SD Leaking head gasket
Just got done pulling the intake/exhaust manifold and noticed what appears to be a relatively small leak from the head gasket (see photo).

My question is, how serious is this? As far as I know, this is the remnants of an old leak that happened 20 years ago and hasn't leaked since...no idea though. Engine has right at 200K mi. on it.
