1981 to 1995 722.3 Most Severe Front Oil Leak Reseal Kit w/ Video Instructions

Have a big fluid leak coming out of the front? It won't just be the seal. There is a BIG hidden o-ring at the edge of the pump.

This is one of the most common leaks we have seen on these transmissions over the past 25 years. If you are discovering big puddels of red transmission fluid on the ground at the front of the transmission I can almost guarantee it is the front pump leaking.

722.3 722.4 Transmission Overhaul Checking B1 Piston Release Pressure - On Demand Video

This is very important - Too loose and you will get flaring between 2nd and 3rd. Too tight shift will jerk

When you are resealing or rebuilding, or even just working on the B1 piston, you need to check the release pressure. This is done by measuring the distance the piston has to travel before the brake band clamps onto the K2 drum. This should NOT be neglected.

722.3 722.4 B1 Piston Removal and Release Clearance Tool

Custom-made in our shop. Fast and easy. Covers both types of transmissions (2 mounting bolts included). You can also use it to measure the critical B1 piston to brake band clearance (1.8 to 2.5 mm)

The B1 piston assembly is not easy to remove and then reinstall. Because of the length of the two big springs behind the cover, it takes a tool that has a lengthy throw.

722.3 722.4 B2 Seal/Sleeve and Front Pump Removal Tool Kit

Slide hammer is the best way to go, but it will need modified attachments

We modified this slide hammer puller set in our shop so it will work in removing two key components in the 722.3 and 722.4 automatic transmissions. Getting the B2 piston and sleeve out of the case can be a real bear without this tool. With it, it comes out quickly and easily.

722.3 Transmission Rear Shaft Nut Removal Socket.

Needed for rear seal replacement or transmission disassembly

You will need a 12-point DEEP socket. That is the only thing that will work. Most impact sockets are six-sided. The best way to remove this nut is with a big impact wrench with the transmission locked in park. So you will need a quality heavy-duty socket. This one is made in the U.S.A.

Early 722.3 Transmission Overhaul Gasket and Seal Kit

We believe this is the highest quality and most thorough kit you can purchase for the price. Elring Brand. 2 "hidden" rivet sealed O-rings NOT included. See related below.

Take a very close look at the picture. These are all the gaskets and seals you will need to replace if you open up your 722.3 transmission that was produced from 1981 to 1990 for all 6 and 8 cylinder passenger cars that had a displacement of 3.0 liters or more.

$219.99

722.3 ONLY Upgraded B2 Piston Replacement Kit

These are GENUINE MERCEDES parts except for the cover o-ring. All parts need to be replaced at the same time.

This will work on the 722.3 transmission BUT NOT the 722.4 smaller transmission found in some 1985 to 1995 models. The piston diameters are different. We are learning, as others are, that these parts are becoming a HIGH preventative maintenance item on these old transmissions.
