The lock and release mechanisms inside wear out over time, and when that happens, a new tumbler assembly will NOT fix the problem. If the internal wear is severe, the lock may not be repairable. We only sell these locks inspected, lubricated with a new tumbler installed, and tested.
This GENUINE MERCEDES switch will work on all 107 chassis 380SL and 560SL 1981 to 1989, all 126 chassis sedans and coupes 1981 to 1991 , all 123 chassis 240D 300D 300CD 300TD from 1980 to 1985, all 201 chassis 190E 2.6 and 190D ( 190E 2.3 up to 1988 ONLY) and all 124 chassis from 1986 to 1993.

Kent has learned that you really can not tell how good your v belts are by just looking at them, especially if they are over 15 years old. Kind of like old tires - they may look good on the outside.
The driver's side W124 under dash panel can be a little tricky to remove due to all the hidden fasteners. Without knowing where these are and how to get to them, removal can be frustrating and it is easy to break the plastic covers.

If your 560SL key starts to stick, is stuck, and won't turn, or you have lost your key, this is your solution. In the first two situations, your lock is probably worn out, and trying to change out the tumbler will not solve the problem.
If you have a stuck key or failed lock in your 1977 to 1979 W123 this is your best option for a reliable replacement but we only have a few of these in stock. The exact originals as shown in the picture below are no longer made. These do not have a replaceable tumbler assembly.
All 380SL, 380SE, and 380SEL owners take note. Even if you acquire a nice 380 like Kent's Cherry you are going to need some or all of these components ( unless of course it was recently done by a competent mechanic ).

NO WARRANTY IF YOU LOCK THIS UP. Do not "play" with it. Do not turn the key fully on until you install the lock out cam, rear electricaL switch AND the cable for the transmission. You should only turn to the first position to install it in your steering lock.
These instructions pertain only to the multi pin plug switch on the back of the ignition lock and key assembly.
These are the exact parts you will receive removed from a 1983 300SD. The key turns smoothly in the ignition tumbler and steering lock assembly.
Good used bright aluminum trim ring. Goes around ignition key tumbler assembly. Complete with three tabs intact. No rubber seal. This is not perfect as there may be some small scratches, but it yours is missing this is much better to look at than a hole through your dash.
