In this video, I will go over the procedure of removing and replacing the level control valve in your older Mercedes with Airmatic suspension. The work here will be performed on a 2000 W220 S500. Other models may have the valve located in a different position with slightly different mounting.

Kent will show you how he found one very small leak in the front and a inconsistant leak in the rear of the airmatic suspension on a W220 S500. Neither of these leaks were showing up on any diagnostic scan so they were not the direct fault of major component failure.
These carbon active filters are only in the 2003 to 2004 E class sedans (maybe a few early 2005) with the Thermotronic climate control ( option 581). There have been reports that some 2005 and 2006 models even with option 581 do not have "twin" sets of filters.
There is much confusion concerning this filter. Many owners don't know if they need this combination filter ( both dust and oder) or the white paper element pollen and dust filter ( see related products ). In the end you will need to make the decision.

There is much confusion among W211 owners as well as parts houses concerning the application of this filter. All W211 models from 2003 to 2009 had a cabin air filter located under a plastic box on the right side of the engine compartment near the firewall.
DOES NOT WORK ON THE V12. If your shift lever feels loose or is rattling, that is an almost sure sign that a bushing (or both)on the transmission shifting lever or the console shifter has disintegrated and fallen out.
