This part wears out over time and can cause a number of problems. Door clunking going over rough ground, door not closing easily, door accidentally popping open while driving, or you find yourself slamming the door just to get it fully closed.
Groaning, snaping and jammed door check straps are a common problem on the older models (up through 1995). This is primarily due to age and lack of lubrication. Newer models will soon start having similar problems. Rain water getting inside the doors is the big killer.

Set of four (4) new factory door striker bolts. It is very easy to round these off. If you are planning on removing or adjusting your strikers and want the original style hex bolts you should have extras on hand.

If you own an older Mercedes sedan or wagon, it is a very good idea to remove all four door panels, repair components, clean drains, and, most importantly, lubricate all moving parts, as Kent explains in numerous YouTube videos.
If your early door lock actuators do not have any cracks in the rubber diaphragms, but they just won't hold vacuum - it may be possible to fix them by taking them apart and cleaning and resealing the outer lip of each diaphragm.

Any time you remove the W220 front door panel, you have to remove the wood trim piece. Any time you remove the wood trim, you will likely need to replace the clips if you want the wood to fit tight. The video below will show you how to remove and replace the wood and the clips.

W116 driver power window failure is very common. It happened to Kent's personal 1979 300SD.
Door panels have to come off when fixing power windows, power seat switches and wiring, door check straps, door latches and locks, and clearing drains. Lubrication is a key factor in preventing premature failure on a number of interior door components. You have to remove the panel to lubricate!
When you install a new door striker, you will have to adjust it so the door closes and fits properly. This can be time-consuming, as it involves a fair amount of trial and error.
